A young boy has been airlifted to hospital after a tomahawk hit him in the head.
The incident is understood to have occurred in Queensland’s South Burnett region on Thursday afternoon, with the 12-year-old suffering head and eye injuries.
The youngster was taken to Cherbourg Hospital for treatment before being airlifted to the Lady Cilento Children’s hospital in Brisbane.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter confirmed the boy was in a stable condition.
It’s unknown how the accident occurred.
