Child airlifted to Sydney hospital after being hit by electric bike outside primary school

A 10-YEAR-OLD child has been airlifted to a Sydney hospital after being hit by an electric bicycle outside a primary school in Canberra.

The incident happened on a pathway adjacent to a primary school in Fadden on Thursday morning. Police said the 10-year-old was riding a bike when they were hit by the electric bicycle being ridden by a 46-year-old man.

The child was seriously injured in the collision and was rushed by ambulance to a local hospital.

Police released a statement on Friday afternoon, confirming the child has since been airlifted to a larger hospital in Sydney for treatment.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated by ACT Policing’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team.
