Child and man airlifted to hospital after jet ski crash

A child and a man have been airlifted to hospital after a nasty jet ski crash off South Stradbroke Island yesterday.

The rescue helicopter and paramedics were called to the island around 1.00pm.

The crash was reported in waters off the Esplanade.


On arrival a man in his 40s had suffered spinal injuries, while the child suffered a neck injury.

They were both airlifted to hospitals in Brisbane, the man went to Princess Alexandra Hospital, while the child went to the Queensland Children’s Hospital.

They’re both believed to be in stable conditions.

Queensland Ambulance were unable to confirm the age and gender of the child.
