Toddler dies after being pulled from popular Gold Coast swimming enclosure

UPDATE @ 10.45 AM | There’s been a tragedy on the Gold Coast just a day before Christmas, with a toddler drowning at Labrador.

The three-year-old boy was found floating in the popular swimming enclosure at the Broadwater just before 9.00am on Friday.

Paramedics performed CPR on the youngster before rushing him to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

Sadly, police have confirmed the child died shortly after arriving at hospital.

Police will now prepare a report for the coroner

EARLIER @ 9.20 AM | A child is fighting for life after being pulled from the popular Broadwater swimming spot this morning.

Emergency crews rushed to waters off Marine Parade in Labrador just before 9.00am following reports of a post-immersion incident.

Paramedics, including Critical Care, remain on scene treating the child.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told myGC the youngster is in a critical condition.

There are no further details available at this time.
