AN eight-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after being found in a scorching hot car in Melbourne.
Emergency crews rushed to Maddox Road in Newport around 2.45pm on Monday afternoon after the youngster was discovered unresponsive in the car by one of his parents.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.

Police say it’s unclear how the boy came to be in the car, however the incident is not believed to be suspicious.
Hobson Bay Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating and Homicide Squad detectives have also been notified as per protocol.
“They are assisting only at this time,” Victoria Police said.
Temperatures reached over 30 degrees in Melbourne on Monday.
