A 10-year-old boy has lost his fight for life after being hit by a car south of Sydney earlier this week.
Emergency crews were called Waples Road in Unanderra on Wednesday morning, following reports a child had been struck by a vehicle.
The youngster was treated at the scene for critical head injuries before being airlifted to the Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick.
The driver of a Nissan Maxima, a 17-year-old boy, was taken to Wollongong Hospital for mandatory testing and later released.
