UPDATE @ 6.30 AM | A young boy is recovering in hospital this morning, after being hit by a bus in Surfers Paradise overnight.
The child was struck on Cavill Avenue, in the heart of the tourist strip, just before 5.00pm.
The Ambulance Bike Response Team, Critical Care Paramedics and the High Acuity Response Unit all responded to the scene.

The youngster, who is of primary school age, suffered a serious leg injury.
He remains in Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
EARLIER @ 6.00PM | A young boy has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a bus in Surfers Paradise.
The boy was struck on Cavill Avenue just before 5.00pm.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics for a serious leg injury before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
He’s in a stable condition.
EARLIER @ 5.00PM | A young boy is being treated by paramedics after being hit by a bus in Surfers Paradise.
The incident is understood to have happened on the popular Cavill Avenue just before 5.00pm.
The Ambulance Bike Response Team, Critical care paramedics and the High Acuity Response Unit are on scene treating the child, who is believed to be of primary school age.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told myGC that the boy has sustained a leg injury.
