UPDATE @ 7.15AM | A toddler has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after he was run over by a car and dragged up a Gold Coast driveway this morning.
The car was reversing up a driveway on Elevation Drive at Wongawallan around 6.30am, when it struck the two-year-old and dragged him some distance up the road.
Stephen Strom from Queensland Ambulance says the child suffered significant leg injuries, as well as facial injuries and shoulder injuries.

“The two year old was struck and dragged approximately five metres, he sustained some injuries to his face, some fractures to his femur, to his clavicle,” Mr Strom said.
He was taken to hospital under lights and sirens, with critical care paramedics on board a short time ago.
Police have confirmed the driver is a male, and is in shock.

EARLIER @ 6.45AM | Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a vehicle and pedestrian incident on the Gold Coast this morning.
It’s understood a child has been hit by a car at a home in Wongawallan, and could be in a serious condition.
Paramedics were called to the scene around 6.22am, and remain on scene.
The child is a male though Queensland Ambulance are yet to confirm his age or injuries.
The High Acuity Response Unit is on scene.
