Mother accidentally runs over 5yo son in driveway of Sydney home

UPDATE 5.20PM AEDT: A FIVE-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after he was accidentally run over in the driveway of his mother’s home in Sydney’s north-west.

Police said a 41-year-old woman was operating the vehicle in the driveway of the Castle Hill home shortly before 5pm AEDT when it struck her young son.

Distraught, the woman began to drive her son to the hospital. Police said the woman then stopped on Crane Road to seek help from ambulance officers.

A paramedic carried the child from his mother’s car and into the back of the ambulance where he was treated before being taken to Westmead’s Children’s Hospital.

His condition is not known. Investigations are continuing.

EARLIER: A SMALL child has reportedly been hit by a car at Castle Hill, in Sydney’s north-west.

The child, believed to be a 5-year-old boy, is being treated at the scene by paramedics.

A paramedic was seen carrying the child into the back of an ambulance.

The child’s condition is not known.
