Child indecently assaulted by man who climbed in her bedroom window

A young girl has allegedly been indecently assaulted by a man who climbed through her bedroom window in the middle of the night.

The terrifying incident happened sometime between 2.45am and 2.55am on Monday 14 May.

Police said the 8-year-old girl was asleep in her bed at a home on Barker Street in Kingsford, Sydney when the man climbed through the window and indecently assaulted her.

“The man spoke to the girl briefly before indecently assaulting her and leaving through the same window,” NSW police said in a statement.

The child, who was not physically injured, told her mother who contacted police.

Detectives have managed to obtain CCTV vision of a man who they believe will be able to assist with  inquiries.

He is described as having an Australian or English accent and between 170cm-180cm tall. He was wearing a dark hooded jumper, cargo pants and a hat.

Police are urging anyone with information or that recognises the man in the vision to contact them immediately.
