Child injured after plunging from fifth-storey rooftop
Police are trying to piece together how a young boy managed to fall from a five-story rooftop in Sydney’s south.
Emergency crews were called to an apartment block on Botany Road in Waterloo around 3.30pm yesterday, following reports a child had fallen from a significant height.
Upon arrival, paramedics found an 11-year-old boy on the ground suffering leg injuries, consistent with a fall.
He was treated at the scene for fractures to his leg before being taken to The Children’s Hospital at Randwick.
Thankfully his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
A crime scene has been set up, with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident underway.
At this stage, police are not treating it as suspicious.
