Child hospitalised after multi-vehicle crash on the Gold Coast

Update at 5.30pm: Paramedics have confirmed that a female and a child were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The age of both patients is still unknown, though their injuries are believed to be minor.

Earlier @ 4.00pm: Emergency services have been called to a traffic crash on Isle of Capri this afternoon, with reports a child has been injured.

Police say it’s a multi-vehicle crash that happened at the traffic lights on Via Roma shortly before 3.30pm this afternoon.

Paramedics are on scene at the moment as well, and have assessed three patients.

Queensland Ambulance Service has confirmed that two of the patients are female, and one of them has declined treatment.

They have also confirmed that a child is currently being assessed.

Police say that initial reports to them suggest the child may have suffered neck pain as a result of the incident.

Emergency services are still on scene.

Traffic is slow through the area.
