Boy, 10, lucky to be alive after being hit by truck

A CHILD has spent the night in hospital after being run over by a truck in Sydney’s northeast.

The 10-year-old boy was struck on Forest Way at Belrose just before 3pm on Tuesday.

Police said the truck was “travelling at low speed” when it hit the child near Glen Street.

The boy was treated by paramedics before he was taken to Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital.

thankfully, police said the child’s injuries were not life-threatening.

The man behind the wheel of the truck was breath tested at the scene and returned a negative result.

Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command are investigating the incident.
