Child punched in the face and strangled by stranger in Qld playground

Police are on the hunt for a man wanted over the horrifying assault of a young boy in a playground at Algester last month.

Around 4.15pm on September 25, the boy was playing with other kids in a park on the corner of Yorrell Street and Ridgewood Road when he was approached by an unknown man.

Police say the man grabbed the 9-year-old boy by the throat, throwing him to the ground before punching him in the face several times.
