Christmas miracle as child is revived after almost drowning on the Gold Coast
AN eight-year-old girl is lucky to be alive after almost drowning at a popular water park on the Gold Coast.
It’s understood the little girl was pulled unconscious from the rockpools at the Broadwater Parklands in Southport by her brother around 2.30pm on Friday.
He informed lifeguards who reportedly performed CPR on the child at the scene before critical care paramedics from the High Acuity Response Unit arrived and took over treatment.
Thanks to the combined effort of quick-thinking bystanders, lifeguards, and paramedics, the little girl was able to be revived at the scene.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the child was taken to the Gold Coast University in a stable condition.
