Child hospitalised after being hit by golf buggy in Sanctuary Cove

A CHILD is lucky to have escaped with only minor injuries after reportedly being run over by a golf buggy.

The accident is understood to have happened while the child was riding a scooter on The Promenade in Sanctuary Cove around 6.30pm on Monday.

The young boy was treated at the scene by paramedics for a leg injury before being taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.


Queensland Ambulance confirmed the boy was transported in a stable condition.

These kind of things happen all the time at sanctuary cove!!! The idiots are so arrogant that they thing the pathway is a buggy highway and flat out is the only speed they can go.

It’s a matter of time before someone is killed by people on a buggy doing 40kph (often overtaking cars on the road) and hitting the grass to avoid people with kids and prams at the last second.

Buggies are near silent on approach. They’re too fast. And if you want to do 40kph. Use the road which is limited to 40kph!

What will it take for buggy drivers to learn to slow down, give way or use the road? A death? An injury? An angry pedestrian pulling them out of the kart and beating them to within an inch for putting their kids lives at risk?
