Child rushed to hospital after being hit by van in Sydney
A young girl has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a van in Sydney’s south west.
Emergency crews rushed to Horsley Drive in Smithfield about 3.40pm on Tuesday after receiving reports a six-year-old girl had been struck by a vehicle.
The youngster was treated at the scene by paramedics for head injuries before being taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead where she remains in a critical but stable condition.
The driver of the van, a 55-year-old man, was taken to Fairfield Hospital for mandatory testing.
Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
