It was the third near-drowning involving a child on the Coast in as many days.

Paramedics were called to a home in Ormeau just before 2pm on Friday after a small child was found floating in a pool.

The youngster was transported to the Gold Coast Uni Hospital in a stable condition.

Friday’s incident came just a day after a baby girl almost drowned in a pool at Burleigh Heads.

Bystanders helped keep the little girl alive by performing CPR until paramedics arrived.

The infant was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

The back-to-back incidents have prompted paramedics to plead with parents to ensure they don’t get distracted around the pool this Christmas.
