Child seriously injured in two car crash

A YOUNG child has suffered serious head injuries in a shocking two car crash in Brisbane.

The two cars came to grief at the intersection of Gympie and Kedron Park roads in Lutwyche around 3.35pm on Saturday.

A 36-year-old man who was driving one of the cars was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with minor injuries.

A six-year-old boy who was travelling in the same car suffered serious head injuries in the collision.

Police he was taken to Brisbane’s Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital.

The driver of the other car, a 50-year-old woman, was treated for minor injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
