Child ‘stable’ after second near-drowning in as many days

A CHILD has been rushed to hospital after almost drowning at a house on the northern Gold Coast.

Paramedics were called to a private residence in Ormeau just before 2pm on Friday after the small child was found floating in a pool.

Queensland Ambulance said the child was taken to the Gold Coast Uni Hospital in a stable condition.


It’s the second near-drowning involving a child on the Gold Coast in as many days.

A baby girl was found floating face down in a pool at a house in Burleigh Heads on Thursday afternoon.

It’s understood witnesses kept the little girl alive by performing CPR until paramedics arrived.

The infant was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
