Children among 5 hurt in horror crash on Qld highway

FIVE people including two children have been injured, some critically, in a horror crash near Rockhampton.

Police said two vehicles were involved in the collision on the Burnett Highway at Bouldercombe around 1pm.

An ambulance spokesperson confirmed five people, three adults and two children, were injured.


Paramedics said two patients had sustained serious-to-critical injuries, while the three others suffered mino-to-moderate wounds.

All have been taken to Rockhampton Hospital for treatment.

Motorists have been urged to avoid the area, with the Burnett Highway blocked in both directions at Bouldercombe.

The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the cause of the crash.
