Children indecently assaulted while holidaying on Gold Coast

A MAN aged in his 70s will appear in court next month, charged with indecently assaulting and exposing himself to guests, including children, at a caravan park on the Gold Coast.

The 76-year-old man is accused of indecently assaulting two boys, aged 8 and 11, at the caravan park in Upper Coomera between June 30 and August 9 this year.

Police said the children were holidaying on the Gold Coast with their families at the time.

Following an extensive investigation by detectives from the Gold Coast’s Child Protection and Investigation Unit, the 76-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday night.

He has since been charged with five counts of indecent treatment of a child under 12 years and two counts of grooming a child under 12 years.

The man was also charged with wilful exposure of a person with an impairment after allegedly exposing himself to a man in August.

He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on November 6.
