Children injured in camp fire accident on North Stradbroke

A young girl has been airlifted to hospital with significant burns following a hororr camp fire accident on North Stradbroke Island.

Emergency crews were called to Point Lookout just after 8.30am on Wednesday following reports two children had been injured.

Upon arrival, they found two primary-school-aged children with burns.

One girl suffered burns to her face, arms and chest, with crews tasking the rescue chopper to the scene.

She was treated by paramedics before being flown to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The second child was taken stable to the Marie Rose Health Centre with burns to her hand.
