LIFEGUARDS have been forced to rescue two 10-year-old boys following separate incidents at the Southport Broadwater Parklands today.
It is understood one of the 10-year-old boy’s was attempting to swim out to the floating pontoon when he got into trouble on Friday afternoon.
The child signalled for help after becoming tired and struggling to stay afloat.

Lifeguards swam out to the boy and used a rescue board to bring him back to shore.
Fortunately, he was not physically injured and no further action was required.
In a separate incident, another 10-year-old boy needed rescuing when he was bounced off a floating ball.
Again, lifeguards used a rescue board to retrieve the child. Thankfully, he too was spared any injury.
