Surfers Paradise will get a taste of the orient as it celebrates Chinese New Year with something for the whole family.
Cavill Mall will host a vibrant display of Chinese culture on Saturday 1 February as the calendar turns to the Year of the Horse.
Surfers Paradise will celebrate the change with an incredible array of Chinese cultural displays, amazing Chinese food and interactive stalls boasting a wide selection of activities including a chopstick challenge and ping pong competition.

The free community event presented by Soul Surfers Paradise will host a range of entertaining performances from 2pm – 5pm including Chinese music and the dazzling Dragon and Lion Dances that capture the colour and spectacle of Chinese New Year.
The art of Kung Fu and Tai Chi will be demonstrated throughout the day with a chance to learn a few moves from the masters.
There will also be a number of workshops to celebrate Chinese culture with the opportunity to master the art of traditional Chinese paper cutting, Chunlian calligraphy and lantern making.
The Chinese New Year free community event at Surfers Paradise will occur Saturday 1 February from 2pm – 5pm.
