Chiropractor charged with sexual assault of patient in NSW

A chiropractor has been charged over the alleged sexual assault of a patient at a clinic in Port Macquarie last month.

The 56-year-old man was taken into custody at Port Macquarie Police Station yesterday.

It comes after detectives launched an investigation after receiving reports a 31-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted while being treated at a clinic on Tuesday 14 July.

The man has since been charged with sexual intercourse without consent.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday 30 September.

Police say investigations are continuing.
