UPDATED 3pm: A 65-year-old man who fell overboard in waters off the Gold Coast Seaway this afternoon has been located safe and well by rescue crews.
The RACQ CareFlight Rescue Helicopter and full search crew were called to assist police and lifeguards with the search and rescue operation at around 2pm.
The man fell into the ocean from the back of his Catamaran around one nautical mile north of the Gold Coast Sea Wall.

By 2.15pm, police, the coast guard, a rescue boat and multiple jet skis were involved in the search.
RACQ CareFlight Rescue Aircrewman Luke Pagano said thankfully the man was found by a police vessel a short time later.
“The man wasn’t wearing a life jacket when he fell,” Mr Pagano said.
“He was shaken up but otherwise in good health. It’s a positive outcome for everyone involved,” he said.
It is understood there were two other people onboard the vessel at the time however were unable to pull the man back on deck.
At 3pm, police confirmed the man had been located safe and well.
He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital as a precaution.
