Chopper pilot defends Maccas landing

A chopper pilot who landed next to a Sydney Maccas to grab some lunch says he was allowed to make the unusual landing.

The helicopter landed at a park in Rouse Hill in the city’s north west around 4.20pm Sunday, much to the shock of onlookers.

The pilot got out of the chopper, picked up his order then took to the skies again.

The pilot, who calls himself Dan, told Kyle and Jackie O he had permission to land.

Aviation authorities are investigating whether the take-off and landing complied with safety requirements.
