The Rotary Club of Broadwater Southport is putting a call out to the Gold Coast community to donate old Christmas decorations to put a smile on the faces of families in need this festive season.
Working in partnership with FSG (Freedom, Social Justice and Growth), the Rotary Club of Broadwater Southport has commenced a Christmas decoration drive for 2015.
Rotary Club of Broadwater Southport Club Service Director Jenny Crewes is coordinating the collection point.

“I am sure many of us have Christmas decorations that just sit in the cupboard taking up space that probably won’t even get used this year,” said Jenny.
“So why don’t we put them to good use and make Christmas a little bit more brighter for families in need.
“There are children on the Gold Coast whose parents will struggle to provide a special meal on Christmas Day, let alone consider decorating their homes or a tree.
“As a club, we want to make a difference and with the support of FSG, we can make this happen.”
The Rotary Club of Broadwater Southport will create the decoration packs, with FSG, formerly the Gold Coast Family Support Group, assisting with the distribution to families in the first week of December.
Donations of decorations can be made during business hours from Monday to Friday until 30 November at Somerville Funerals, 65 Nind Street, Southport.
