Shoplifters seem to be getting into the Christmas spirit with ham and typical gift items topping their thieving lists.
Operation light fingers was conducted in Sydney’s CBD, Bondi Junction and Broadway in response to a heightened number of retail theft and fraud reports in the lead up to Christmas.
The four-day operation saw police deal with 94 people with over 100 reported offences of property stolen valued at $3500.

Popular items on the thieves list were perfumes, jewellery, electronics and clothing alongside food, including such items as ham and turkey.
