Christmas shoppers stuck in three-hour wait to exit car park

A number of Christmas shoppers were not feeling the festive spirit while trying to leave a shopping centre yesterday, after they were forced to wait almost three hours to exit the car park.

The wait was so long at the Castle Towers shopping centre in Sydney’s northwest, that some drivers reportedly resorted to leaving their cars behind and catching taxis home instead.

Disgruntled shoppers took to Facebook to complain about the excruciating wait, with one woman writing: “Three hours stuck on the roof – you are kidding yourselves – never coming back here again.”

Castle Towers centre manager Martin Ollis apologised to customers, telling 2GB they were doing their best.

“During the final days of the popular Christmas trading period the surrounding roads are busy, and Castle Towers Management is doing everything they can at this time to ensure that our customers can enter and exit the centre in a timely and safe manner.”

I was one of the lucky ones that got stuck in that debarckle on Monday. I didn’t see the point in stressing about it. What would that do? I just kicked back, cranked up ACDC’s ” It’s a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll.” I then cranked it up even louder for ” HAPPY” Will Pherral”. A couple of other drivers got out of their cars and we all had a very enjoyable chat. Merry Christmas everyone!
