A FIVE-year-old girl has tragically died just three weeks before Christmas after being run over by a car outside the family home southwest of Melbourne.
It’s understood the child was struck by a car in the driveway of the Inverleigh home, west of Geelong.
Emergency services were called to the scene just after 6.30pm on Friday.

It is not yet clear if the woman who was driving the car is related to the child.
Sadly, despite the desperate attempts of paramedics to revive the little girl, she could not be saved.
Police said the five-year-old was pronounced deceased at the scene before she could be taken to hospital.
It’s understood the incident was nothing more than a tragic accident and it’s not known if any charges will be laid.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
