Citizen’s arrest after boys allegedly bash woman on the Gold Coast

THERE HAVE been dramatic scenes in Robina, after bystanders carried out a citizen’s arrest on two teenage boys.

It’s alleged the pair, aged 15 and 16, dragged a woman from her car on Laver Street, before punching her.

The 41-year-old woman had been sitting in her parked car when the alleged attack happened, about 5.30pm on Friday.


Police say the boys opened the driver’s side door pulled the woman out and began punching her.

They then allegedly took off with her phone.

But, they didn’t get far with members of the public chasing them down the street.

They were caught and brought back to the scene, where they were eventually arrested by Police.

Both teenagers have been charged with robbery.

The woman was taken to nearby Robina Hospital for treatment to minor facial injuries.
