THE Queensland Fire and Emergency Service has responded to claims made by News Corp regarding staff numbers.
The media outlet released the results of a safety audit which uncovered 26 cases of “dangerous crewing” in the past three months.
It named various locations including the Gold Coast.

A QFES spokesperson said on Monday that it operates a different staffing model to police and ambulance.
The Fire and Emergency Service continuously reviews its staffing model and service delivery. The most recent figures indicate that current staffing levels are appropriate.
QFES’ has a target to attend 90% of structure fires within 14 minutes of notification.
Last financial year, QFES attended 90% of structure fires within 12.4 minutes.
