Climate change activist suspended under Brisbane’s Story Bridge

Climate change activists are settling in for a week of protests around the world, with many already arrested.

The ‘Extinction Rebellion’ demonstrations are all calling on more government action on climate change.

Hundreds of Australians have been arrested so far, though demonstrations are set to continue right through the week.

In Brisbane this morning, a man has suspended himself from the underside of the Story Bridge.

Police closed part of the bridge, as they began negotiating with the man around 7.30am.

He reportedly has enough supplies to stay there for a couple of days, and has apparently sent a message to the Queensland Premier demanding she declare a climate emergency.
