World champion surfer Mick Fanning has “made the life” of a teenage cancer patient, surprising him with a surf lesson on the Gold Coast.
Ben Beasley, 16, was stuck down by a paralysing tumour on his brain in March and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
The teenager, who idolises Fanning, had just one wish – to surf with the three-time world champ and Fanning made that wish a reality, surprising Beasley at Snapper Rocks for a one-on-one surf lesson on Monday.

Beasley described the surfing session as the “best moment of [his] life”.
“I was just freaking out. It was just a once-in-a-lifetime thing and, yeah, best moment of my life,” he told ABC.
Fanning is an ambassador for the Starlight Foundation’s wish-granting program.
