Coleslaw urgently recalled over salmonella fears

Supermarket giant Woolworths is urgently recalling a batch of its home-brand coleslaw over fears it may be contaminated with salmonella.

The recall includes Woolworths Coleslaw 110g, 250g, 400g and 800g, with the use by dates from January 12 up to and including January 21.

The affected coleslaw has been available for sale in NSW and the ACT and some Woolworths Supermarkets in regional Victoria.

“The recall is due to potential microbial (Salmonella) contamination,” the recall notice reads.

“Food products with potential microbial contamination may cause illness if consumed.”

Customers are being urged to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice,” the supermarket said.
