The 2018 Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton has landed in Brisbane ahead of next year’s Games.
Olympic swimmer and Commonwealth Games Ambassador Cam McEvoy was the first person to carry the Baton today, taking it through Brisbane airport.
The Baton will now travel around Australia before it lands on the Gold Coast for next year’s opening ceremony on April 4.

So far, the Baton has been passed through thousands of hands as it travelled through Africa, the Caribbean, the Americas, Europe and Asia.
The GC2018 Relay is the longest in history, travelling through the entire Commonwealth for 388 days and 230,000 kilometres.
