Comm Games medal reveal raises $350,000 for GC charities

The Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Charity Gala and Medal Reveal earlier this month has raised nearly $360,000 for one of our most important local charity organisations.

The fundraising event was held at The Star Gold Coast, with more than 700 people dipping into their pockets to support the Gold Coast Community fund.

The charity is an incorporated body which acts as a central pool and distributes funds to other charities, community organisations and people in need.

GOLDOC Chairman Peter Beattie AC said the money will help a lot of locals in need.

“This result is a great legacy for the community but importantly reinforces the generosity of people in this city,” he said.

During the past 18 years, the Gold Coast Community Fund has provided almost $3 million towards community groups.
