Commodore driver killed after colliding head-on with 4WD on NSW highway

A MAN has been killed in a head-on crash on a highway south of Batemans Bay, on the NSW South Coast.

The two-car accident happened on the Princes Highway at Turlinjah just before 4pm on Thursday.

The 56-year-old was driving a Holden Commodore which collided head-on with a Mitsubishi Pajero.

Sadly, the man’s injuries were too severe and he could not be saved.

Police confirmed the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was the only person travelling in the Commodore.

The 32-year-old woman behind the wheel of the Pajero escaped with only minor injuries.

She was taken to Moruya Hospital for treatment and mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash and will prepare a brief for the Coroner.
