What does the drug ice look like? How does it affect your brain? And how can you help a loved one using it?
Those are the questions that will be answered at a free community forum on ice and other drugs to be held next Wednesday at the Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park Surf Life Saving Club.
The forum, hosted by the Australian Anti Ice Campaign (AAIC) in association with Rotary, will also discuss a new in-school education workshop program being rolled out across Gold Coast High Schools.

Michelle Vidler from the AAIC says: “Ice is having a devastating impact on our city and its residents, not to mention the cost to the taxpayer.”
She described the forum as “a two hour education program with experts from rehabilitation and detox centres who talk about intervention, family support and treatment options.”
Along with police, local and federal government leaders, support service providers, and medical staff, the forum will help Gold Coasters to better understand the facts around the drug ice and how to help loved ones who may be in danger of addiction.
For more information on next Wednesday’s community forum, which goes from 7pm – 9pm, contact the AAIC on 07 5665 6063 or firstname.lastname@example.org. While the event is free, they’re asking for support through a gold coin donation on the night.
