Young girl missing after going for a bike ride in Sydney

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a 14-year-old girl missing from Sydney’s south west.

About 11am on Sunday, Abigail Brewster left her home on Dunbier Avenue at Lurnea, saying she was going for a bike ride.

When she had not returned by 4.30pm, she was reported missing to police.

“This has been described as being out of character, and police have concerns for her welfare,” officers said in a statement.

Abigail is described as being Pacific Islander in appearance, 160cm tall, slim build, with black shoulder length hair, and she was last seen wearing a blue jumper with white writing, black tights, wearing a green backpack and riding a blue push bike.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts are urged to contact police immediately.
