Connie Johnson to be celebrated and farewelled at public service

Thousands of people will soon gather Melbourne’s St Paul’s Cathedral to celebrate the life of an incredible Australian.

Two weeks after she ‘died from cancer’, Connie Johnson will be farewelled with a bang.

Her brother, Gold Logie-winning actor Samuel Johnson, will lead the service, which will also hear from Connie’s husband, Mike, and media personality Carrie Bickmore.

“We have some amazing village speakers and some family that have never spoken publicly of Con or LYS,” Sam wrote on the Love Your Sister Facebook page this week.

“It’s going to be an absolute belter. I was tasked with this service personally and I WILL NOT f*** it up.”

The 40-year-old mother of two and breast cancer campaigner died at a Canberra hospice on September 8, a day after receiving a Medal of the Order of Australia for her work on behalf of other cancer sufferers.

The Love for Connie service begins at 4.15pm and will be live streamed on the Love Your Sister Facebook page.
