Outrage after mother sells brownies made with her breast milk at school cake stall

A mother in the US has caused a storm of controversy after selling brownies made with her breast milk at a school cake stall.

The anonymous mother took to Facebook this week to ask for advice after other mums found out about the unusual ingredient used in the chocolate treat and understandably got very upset.

“I need some advice. I made brownies for my school bake sale that had breastmilk in them,” the woman began.

“I didn’t have time to run to the store, and didn’t think it was a big deal (some of those kids could use the nutrition to be honest).

“One of the other moms found out and are blowing it way out of proportion. Idk what to do!”

The post was picked up by parenting Facebook group Sanctimommy, and has since gone viral with other people expressing their disgust.

“Honestly this is actually a damn near criminal offence,” one woman wrote. “Breast milk, like blood, can carry diseases, which is why legit donation services screen the milk before passing it along to moms and their babies. Secretly feeding children that aren’t yours baked goods with your bodily fluids in them in gross.”

“This is why schools specify STORE BOUGHT baked goods these days!” another commented.
