Cool cultural events happening on the Gold Coast this weekend!

If you’re not heading to check out the sporting action at the Games this weekend, or are looking for something fun to get up to before/after an event, there are loads of cultural events taking place across the city!

Festival 2018 and Bleach* Festival are in full swing, plus many of the city’s shopping centres are offering free family activities too.

Here are some cool events we think are worth checking out this weekend:


Wave Fields 
What: Spend the night on the beach in Burleigh enveloped in a mesmerising soundscape created by renowned artist Lawrence English.
When: Friday 6 April at 5:30pm until Saturday 7 April at 7am
Where: Mick Shamburg Park, The Esplanade, Burleigh
Cost: $20 including light supper, tea/coffee and light breakfast for the morning, and booking fee

What: Take a wander through a monumental, walk-in sculpture that has enchanted millions of people across the globe. Journey through the dazzling maze of winding paths and soaring domes, and awaken your sense of wonder.

What: See a selection of the country’s finest new artists perform an explosion of colour, light and truly innovative pop music.

Live at the CBD Street Party
What: Enjoy a daily lineup of the best local live music acts, from roots to reggae, folk to funk, and everything in between.

Detour Street Art Festival
What: Check out eye-catching street-art installations, enjoy immersive children’s craft workshops and watch live performances by top-notch local musicians.
