Upper Coomera double murder goes back to court

THE man accused of stabbing the mother of his children and her new partner at their Upper Coomera home will be back in court today.

Christopher Robert Carter, 36, was charged with the murder of Renee Carter and Corey Croft back in January following the alleged attack.

The victims’ five-year-old son was found inside the home and is believed to have woken up to the tragic scene and remained in the home for hours before a family member discovered the murder and called police.

It was later revealed the male victim, Corey Croft, was a convicted child sex offender with convictions in two states.

Police had ruled the murdered man’s criminal past out as a motive for the killings.

Mr Carter will appear in Southport Magistrates Court this morning.
