Copenhagen Airport evacuated after men heard discussing a bomb

Two men have been arrested at Copenhagen’s Kastrup Airport after they were overheard discussing a bomb in one of their bags, forcing the evacuation of the entire terminal.

Terminal 3 was evacuated at around noon yesterday after police were notified of the conversation. It reopened several hours later.

According to Danish police, the two friends, whose identity and nationality haven’t been revealed, said they were only joking with each other.

The incident came just hours after Danish police raised the country’s threat level by one notch to the second-highest level, citing the elevated risk of a terrorist attack after last week’s Paris attacks.

The airport was later reopened, although the closure was expected to cause some delays for the rest of the day.
