Alleged cannabis grower arrested during police raid in rural NSW

A man has been charged with drug and firearm offences following a police raid in regional New South Wales.

Police said officers executed a search warrant on a property off Ogunbil Road at Dungowan, around 30 kilometres south west of Tamworth, on Thursday afternoon.

During the search, it’s alleged police found 14 cannabis plants, a stash of cannabis leaf, and an unregistered firearm and ammunition.


A 47-year-old man was arrested at the house and taken to Tamworth Police Station for questioning.

He has since been charged with cultivate prohibited plant, possess prohibited drug, supply cannabis, possess unauthorised firearm, possess ammunition without holding license/permit, and not keep firearm safely.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court on Monday 20 June.
