Cops hunt toothless, tattooed man after couple attacked, stabbed in their car

POLICE are searching for a heavily-tattooed man with missing teeth following a savage stabbing in regional NSW.

Police said two men and a woman were sitting in a red four-wheel-drive on Campbell Road at Calala, near Tamworth, around 4.30am on Thursday when one of the men allegedly pulled out a knife.

The armed man allegedly drove the knife through the other 33-year-old man’s body and attempted to stab the woman before running from the scene.

The injured man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to hospital for treatment. Police say the man’s injuries are no life-threatening.

Detectives from Oxley Local Area Command are investigating the incident and wish to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as having a tanned complexion, with a thin build and short brown curly hair and had missing teeth and tattoos on his chest, arms and back.

The man was wearing grey pants, black t-shirt, a grey or brown coloured jacket and grey and purple shoes.
