A MULTI-MILLION dollar mega church at Burleigh Waters has been given tick of approval by council.
The proposed church will be located in the precinct of Marymount primary and secondary schools and will be the Gold Coast’s second largest church, with the ability to seat approximately 650 people.
Burleigh Heads Parish Priest Fr Ken Howell told The Catholic Leader the church is intended to be the parish’s main church and was increasingly necessary with the continued rapid growth of the parish.

Burleigh Heads is now Australia’s largest parish, with over 32,000 members.
Three councillors voted against approving the church during yesterday’s full council meeting, criticising the church’s planned location.
